The Tuner is excellent but I am having a weird issue that when it is on for about 1 1/2 hours it loses all its clarity for all FM stations and low levels. When I turn it off and on again it clears up for about 5 minutes and then goes into the noisy state with no FM channels that can be tuned in. Interesting as soon as I remove the cover it all works fine for hours. I took it to an electronic repair center but they said they could not create the problem. I picked it up today and brought it home and when I connected it to a different integrated amp it still failed about 1 1/2 hours. I removed the top and turned it on again and it appears fine and hasn’t failed yet. Somrthing to do with the lid but I don’t see why. There is one transistor on the power supply board that has a aluminum heat sink on it and it runs quite hot but this may be normal ? Has anyone else expienced this problem with an S5 ?
incresed the heatsink size and problem was gone. The heat was enough to heat up a couple of transistors in the the tuning end. That is why when I took the lid off it worked perfect. Problem solved and works like a dream now. There is no ventilation in the cover so the must have affected the sensitivity of these two transistors.
